In 2026, I’ll be hosting a week-long open-fire culinary experience on the Isle of Luing, a remote Inner Hebridean island off Scotland’s west coast.

This immersive retreat is designed for those who want to slow down, disappear to a wild corner of Scotland, and experience island life through food, fire, and landscape. Over five days, guests will connect with the rhythms of island living and explore an intimate, fire-led culinary ethos guided by open-fire chef William Hamer.

This is not a cookery school or a traditional retreat. It’s an invitation to live simply, eat well, and engage deeply with the land and sea that shape life on Luing.

The Experience

Across five days (Monday–Friday), guests take part in hands-on demonstrations, shared meals, and island adventures shaped by weather, tide, and season. Each day unfolds naturally, responding to the environment rather than a rigid schedule.
